Hello! I'm Sophia

I am a health economist working to understand the economic impact of public health programs. I hold an M.S. in health policy and economics and currently work at a non-profit research organization. I was motivated to pursue a career in public health after working as an emergency department scribe and interning at a community health center. These experiences showed me the suffering caused by often preventable chronic diseases and the barriers patients face when trying to access affordable healthcare. I am working to find effective disease prevention strategies and help alleviate health disparities. I am also interested in advancements in healthcare technology to help reduce access barriers and potentially lower costs. My skills include writing, quantitative and qualitative research, and project management. My goals are to further my data analysis skills and continue learning about the U.S. healthcare system and health policy issues.
